Human Strugle in an Art Form

To me, the painting by Andrew Wyeth, "Christina's World", represents human struggle. Since the painted was created shortly after the Great Depression, I feel that the picture is a reflection of the hard times people faced, especially in rural farm towns.
The girl seems to be in a desperate struggle by the way she is on the ground as if she has fallen but is still reaching out towards the house as if she will not give up, even if she has to crawl to make her way.
