Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music, literature, film, sculpture, paintings, and etc.

Art is anything that starts out as a vision in the mind and is turned into something that can be seen by others. It is anything that displays or evokes passion, emotion, or thought. It does not necessarily have to be "pretty" or even well-liked. It just needs to make a statement to be considered art.

Judaism is a Culture Because...

Judaism

Culture includes arts, beliefs, customs, inventions, language, technology and traditions. The term 'civilization' is similar, but it refers mostly to scientifically more advanced ways of life. A culture is any way of life, simple or complex.

Culture is learned, Not squired just by birth. A person can develop a certain culture because of the civilization they are born into. Culture can be maintained no matter where a person is geographically.

Judaism is a religion, but it is also a culture. The Jewish culture incorporates food, traditions, etc...

Judaism is not just a way of life, it is a life style.

It is one that my family and I practice and live everyday.

On the Graffiti Beat

Graffiti

I feel that graffiti is an art because it comes from inside the creative mind of a person.

Though I don't like graffiti, I appreciate it because it started as a vision that someone turned into a tangible thing.

To graffiti something and to tag something are two separate things. Tagging usually is just one word spray-painted on a surface. This is typically done to "claim territory" in a city.

Graffiti is usually more colorful and of pictures and words, not exclusive to just words.

I chose Michael Jackson's music video for "Man in the Mirror" because it is a work of art in so many aspects. This video nearly brought tears to my eyes when I first watched it.

Throughout the video, photographs, taken by artists, are shown. These pictures do exactly what any art should, they bring out emotion and make the viewer really think about what is going on in the world.

The song itself is art because it does the same thing. Every time I hear this song I always question the person I am and the things I do. I think about what I am doing wrong that I can change to better my life and my world.

Michael Jackson was a wonderful artist. He knew exactly how to make his art bring out the emotions, thoughts, and feelings in people.

He directed the video, wrote the music and wrote the lyrics, all while putting his own feeling into it. This is art to me.

Architecture That I Love

ANTEBELLUM HOMES

Antebellum styled homes are my favorite pieces of architecture. They are big, grand, and beautiful on both the outside and inside.

America's antebellum architecture reflects the power and idealism of wealthy landowners in the American South, prior to the Civil War.

The features associated with Antebellum architecture were introduced to the American South by Anglo-Americans who moved into the area after the Louisiana Purchase in 1803.

Most Antebellum homes are in the Greek Revival, Classical Revival, or Federal style: grand, symmetrical, and boxy, with center entrances in the front and rear, balconies, and columns or pillars.

Fashion as Art

Designing fashions is an art because the designer is creating something with careful planning, passion, and thought. The final product, the garment, represents the designer's own personal style, taste, and flair.

Each garment reflects the designer's creativity and talent, just as a painting does that of its painter.

Human Behavior in Art

Human behavior is the collection of behaviors exhibited by human beings and influenced by culture, attitudes, emotions, values, ethics, authority, rapport, hypnosis, persuasion, coercion and/or genetics.

This painting is an example of human behavior because it depicts the emotion felt by some during the 1930's Great Depression

Human Condition in Art Form

The human condition refers to the distinctive features of humann existence. As finite and mortal entities, there are series of features that are common to most human lives, and some that are inevitable for all.

Paintings by William Hawk study the social culture and seek the meaning of human nature while they all display human condition.

"Paradise Lost - Sojourner"

All the pieces revolve around the human condition. Hawk uses his work to openly question the nature of society and to closely study interpersonal relationships. In questioning the nature of society, he questions the humble beginnings of social culture through some of his works.

Human Nature in Art Form

Human nature is the concept that there are a set of characteristics, including ways of thinking, feeling and acting, that all 'normal' humans have in common.

Dario Robleto is a human nature photographer.

In this photo, Robleto, focuses on the inevitable loss of the glaciers, the mourning we collectively experience as we witness the changing of the earth at our own hands, and the ways in which loss can inspire new ways of thinking.

Self Portrait

I created this mosaic of myself using tiny pieces of paper I cut from magazines and then glueing them onto poster board.

I modeled my mosaic after a picture I took of myself a few years ago. So, my self-portrait was actually a self-portrait of a self-portrait.

This represents me because it is based from an actual picture of me. It also represents me because because I decided every aspect of both the photo and the mosaic. In the picture I decided what to wear, where to look, what angle to hold the camera. While creating the mosaic, I decided what colors to use to recreate the photograph, where the pieces of paper should be placed, How big I wanted my image to be. I decided every element, which makes the entirity of the project represent me.
